Desk Correspondent , Kerala - Monalisa Bhonsle, became an overnight sensation on the internet because of her looks, she was discovered selling rudraksh in Mahakumbh Mela in Pragraj. It has come up that she recently got married at the Nayanar temple in Arumanoor in Poovar, Kerala, to a Muslim guy, whom she said she has been dating for the past six months. Although she denies all claims of her conversion, her family was entirely against this union calling it a ‘love jihad.’ Monalisa also tried to file a complaint against her father at the Thampanoor police station, when he tried to interrupt a shoot and take her back with him forcefully. She mentioned that she is an adult and is responsible to take her own decisions, so the police did not intervene in the situation.
Farman Khan is an actor who comes from Bhagpat district in Uttar Pradesh. They said that they met on the set of a Malayalam film, Nagamma, directed by P. Binu Varghese, in which Farman plays the lead antagonist while Monalisa was cast as the female lead. Both of them claim to be secular in their thoughts. Farman also says, “Kerala is very good and the people here are very supportive. If Monalisa likes it here, we may continue to stay.’’
Their marriage was supported by several members of the marxist party, including Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty, ruling CPI (M) state secretary M V Govindan, Rajya Sabha MP AA Rahim, and other prominent leaders. Sivankutty also said that, “Marriage happens in heaven, and that heaven is Kerala. It is the real Kerala story.” Monalisa plans to settle down in Kerala after marriage, as they both believe Kerala was a state that ‘supports people beyond religion and caste’. She also plans to continue working in Malayalam films.
