Panic spread in a village in Guna district after several children reportedly fell ill following the consumption of suspected contaminated drinking water. The affected children complained of symptoms such as stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, and weakness, prompting concerned families to seek immediate medical attention.
The children began showing signs of illness within hours of drinking water supplied from a common source in the area. As the number of affected youngsters increased, health officials were alerted and medical teams were rushed to the village to assess the situation.
Doctors provided treatment to the children and monitored their condition closely. Most of the patients were reported to be stable, while a few were kept under observation as a precautionary measure. Health workers also collected water samples from the suspected source for laboratory testing to determine whether contamination was responsible for the illnesses.
District authorities have launched an inquiry into the incident and instructed officials to inspect local water supply systems. Temporary arrangements for safe drinking water have reportedly been made to prevent further health risks to residents.
The incident has raised concerns about the quality of drinking water in rural areas and the need for regular monitoring of public water sources. Residents have urged authorities to take swift corrective action and ensure access to clean and safe water.
