Desk Correspondent , Mumbai - Star Plus upcoming show Sairaab has already created a massive buzz online, but not entirely for the right reasons. Soon after the channel dropped its AI-generated promo, viewers began comparing the visuals and theme to Mohit Suri’s blockbuster romantic film Saiyaara. Many social media users also pointed out that the male lead appeared similar to Ahaan Panday’s popular character Krish Kapoor.
The promo shows a rockstar male lead performing passionately on stage with a guitar as fans cheer loudly for him. At the same time, the female lead, dressed in a yellow saree, watches him emotionally from backstage before walking away while he attempts to stop her. Even though the makers did not reveal the actors’ faces, the visuals instantly reminded viewers of Saiyaara. Several internet users criticised the similarities, with comments like, “We are copying Saiyaara now?” and “Not everyone can recreate Krish Kapoor’s aura.” Another user wrote, “You can never copy Saiyaara because it was original.”
The promo has also sparked speculation about the lead cast, with fans demanding Harshad Chopra and Jennifer Winget as the main pair, while some believe Amaal Mallik and Tanya Mittal could be part of the project as Ekta Kapoor offered a show to both of them in Bigg Boss and Tanya Mittal also shared that she had started shooting for her first television project.
While the comparisons and criticism continue to trend online, Sairaab has successfully grabbed viewers’ attention even before its official launch. With curiosity around the lead cast and storyline growing rapidly, fans are now eagerly waiting for Star Plus to reveal more details about the much-talked-about show.
