Desk Correspondent ,New Delhi - The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested six members of the notorious Rashid Cablewala and Hashim Baba gang following a series of coordinated raids across the national capital. The operation led to the recovery of a significant cache of illicit firearms, including semi-automatic pistols and over 40 rounds of live ammunition. Authorities stated that the group was allegedly planning targeted killings and high-profile extortions in the city to re-establish the gang's dominance in Northeast Delhi.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the movement of "shooters" linked to Hashim Baba—who is currently incarcerated—police teams intercepted the suspects in the Yamuna Vihar and Jaffrabad areas. Investigators revealed that the arrested individuals were acting under instructions from Rashid Cablewala, a key aide currently believed to be operating from overseas. The suspects have been identified as seasoned criminals with previous involvements in cases of attempt to murder, robbery, and Arms Act violations.
The crackdown is seen as a major blow to the Baba gang's attempt to recruit local youth for organized crime. Officials noted that the recovered weapons were sourced from illegal manufacturing hubs in neighboring states. All six accused have been remanded to police custody, while further investigations are underway to trace the financial trail and identify other potential targets on their hit list. The police have intensified patrolling in sensitive zones to prevent any retaliatory violence between rival factions.
