Veteran playback singer Kumar Sanu has approached the Delhi High Court seeking legal protection of his personality rights, aiming to prevent the unauthorized use of his name, voice, and likeness. The petition is scheduled to come up for hearing before Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora on October 13.

In his plea, Sanu highlights the growing misuse of his identity in digital and commercial media without his consent. He asserts that such acts violate his fundamental right to dignity and creative control over his persona. The petition seeks a judicial direction restraining others from exploiting his name, voice, photographic image, or any vocal likeness particularly in contexts like endorsements or AI-generated content.
