Tharoor’s comments came after Indian-origin venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani praised Gor’s nomination, noting it was a major development for India-US relations.
Motwani described Gor as a key figure in US President Donald Trump’s inner circle, suggesting his appointment would provide India with direct access to the highest levels of the US administration. She anticipated "faster communication with Washington" and increased interest from American tech firms in the Indian market. Tharoor echoed this sentiment, hoping for "a somewhat more stable set of interlocutors" if the Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia is also confirmed soon.
