On October 14, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. Their meeting underscored the enduring friendship between India and Mongolia. The leaders exchanged pleasantries and jointly planted a sapling, symbolizing the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.
Earlier in the day, President Ukhnaa paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, laying a wreath and signing the guest book. He was also presented with a bust and a book on Gandhi, reflecting the shared cultural and spiritual values between India and Mongolia.
This marks President Ukhnaa’s first state visit to India. He arrived in Delhi on Monday for a four-day visit and was received at the airport by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also met with President Ukhnaa, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The visit highlights the multifaceted cooperation between India and Mongolia, encompassing sectors such as defense, energy, education, and cultural exchange. Diplomatic relations between the two nations were established in 1955, and their partnership continues to thrive based on shared democratic values and mutual respect.
