Ananya Lohia , Kanyakumari - Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Peddi has witnessed a sharp decline at the box office after a promising start. The sports drama, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is now earning less than ₹10 crore a day globally and has slowed considerably in both domestic and overseas markets.
The film opened strongly with ₹69 crore net in India and crossed ₹100 crore gross worldwide on its first day. It maintained momentum over the opening weekend, collecting ₹137 crore net domestically. However, collections began falling sharply from Monday onwards. On its seventh day in theatres, Peddi earned just ₹7.55 crore net in India, taking its domestic total to ₹187.25 crore net and ₹222.50 crore gross. Overseas, the film managed only $75,000 on Wednesday, pushing its international earnings slightly above $5 million. Its worldwide collection now stands at around ₹273 crore gross.

Despite being promoted as a pan-India release, the film has drawn nearly 95 per cent of its earnings from the Telugu version. The Hindi dubbed version, released across more than 1,000 screens, has struggled to gain traction and has collected just over ₹15 crore after seven days. The film has also faced criticism over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character, with several viewers accusing the makers of objectifying the actor and limiting her role. Following the backlash, director Buchi Babu Sana apologised and said the scenes drawing criticism would be modified.
With collections continuing to decline, Peddi is now expected to take longer than anticipated to cross the ₹300-crore mark worldwide. The slowdown has put the film behind the pace needed to surpass the lifetime earnings of several recent box-office successes, despite its record-breaking opening day.
