Severe monsoon rains continue to wreak havoc across Pakistan, leaving at least 657 people dead and nearly 1000 others injured. The heavy downpours have triggered flash floods, damaged infrastructure, and displaced thousands of families in multiple provinces.
Authorities said Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain among the worst-hit regions, where overflowing rivers and landslides have destroyed homes, roads, and farmlands. Rescue teams, along with the military, have been deployed to carry out evacuations and provide relief supplies to the affected population.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority, thousands of houses have collapsed while livestock losses have further deepened the crisis for rural families. Relief camps have been set up, but officials admit that the scale of the disaster has made aid distribution challenging.
Meteorological warnings suggest more rain in the coming days, raising concerns about further flooding. The government has urged citizens in vulnerable areas to move to safer ground as emergency efforts continue.
