Desk Correspondent , Mumbai - The much-awaited multilingual film Vrusshabha, starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, has officially become one of the biggest box office failures of 2025. Despite being made on a massive budget of 70 crore rupees, the movie failed to attract audiences and struggled to recover even a small portion of its costs. After a very poor opening, the film's earnings completely crashed over the following days, leaving the producers and theater owners in a difficult financial position.

The film was heavily promoted as a grand action spectacle with high-quality visual effects, but it received very negative reviews from both critics and fans. Many viewers complained about the weak story and poor direction, which led to empty cinema halls across the country. Within just six days of its release, most theaters decided to stop screening the movie due to the lack of ticket sales. The total collection stands at a shocking 2 crore rupees, which is a tiny fraction of what was spent on its making.

This failure marks a significant setback for Mohanlal, who is known for delivering major hits throughout his long career. While the superstar’s performance was praised by some, it was not enough to save the film from its structural flaws and lack of entertainment value. Trade analysts are calling this the most expensive mistake of the year so far for the South Indian film industry. As the movie disappears from screens, the makers are now looking toward a digital release to try and minimize their heavy losses.
