Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Netflix’s latest original film Maa Behen, starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri and Dharna Durga, has emerged as a global hit. Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film has secured the second spot on Netflix’s Top 10 Non-English Films list worldwide and is currently trending in 15 countries.
The film, which tackles patriarchy through a blend of humour, emotion and family drama, is ranked just behind the Spanish film The Marked Woman. Vignesh Raja’s Dhanush-starrer Kara follows in third place, while Mexico 86 and Risa and the Wind Phone round out the top five. Reacting to the film’s success, Madhuri Dixit said the overwhelming response from audiences has been incredibly rewarding. She noted that the story’s relatable themes, humour and honesty helped viewers connect deeply with its characters and relationships.

Triptii Dimri expressed happiness over the appreciation for her character Jaya, especially a powerful monologue in which the character finally lets go of her husband. The actor said she devoted significant time to understanding Jaya’s emotional journey while preparing for the scene. Dharna Durga described being part of Maa Behen as an unforgettable experience, adding that the achievement is particularly special as it marks her Netflix debut. Director Suresh Triveni said the film set out to explore unconventional family dynamics, flawed yet relatable characters and societal judgments through humour and chaos.
