Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - The controversy surrounding the viral ₹370 biryani remark has taken a fresh turn after social media influencer and model Sakshi Shivdasani publicly criticised comedian Pranit More over his apology.
The backlash began after 23-year-old Himanshu Jangra, during Pranit More's comedy show, claimed that after paying ₹370 for a plate of chicken biryani on a date, he deserved a "return" on his investment, implying entitlement to sex. The clip quickly went viral, triggering widespread criticism online. Following the outrage, Jangra apologised and deactivated his social media accounts. Reacting to Pranit More's statement distancing himself from the audience member's remarks, Sakshi Shivdasani questioned why the comedian had shared the clip online in the first place. In a strongly worded Instagram Story, she argued that the video was posted because it was found amusing and criticised the notion that paying for a date could entitle someone to intimacy.
She also commented on Jangra's dismissal from his job, saying the consequences came only because women spoke out against the remarks. Sakshi further rejected attempts to downplay the incident, calling the comments "gross and disgusting." Earlier, Pranit More had apologised, admitting that he should have challenged the audience member's statement instead of laughing and moving on. He described it as a lapse in judgment and said he would learn from the episode.
Meanwhile, Jangra's employer, Starvik Design, announced that it had terminated his employment. Founder Vivek Vishwakarma said the controversy had begun affecting the workplace, adding that the company had a responsibility to maintain a healthy environment for its team and clients.
