Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has once again grabbed headlines after issuing a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh over his reported last-minute exit from Don 3. The action came after filmmakers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani filed a complaint against the actor. FWICE had invited Ranveer to present his side, but after receiving no response, the federation decided to boycott him.
This is not the first time FWICE has taken strict action against celebrities. In 2025, after the Pahalgam terror attack, the federation demanded a ban on Pakistani artists in India. Soon after, Pakistani actor Hania Aamir appeared in the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, triggering backlash. FWICE imposed a non-cooperation order against Diljit for collaborating with a Pakistani artist. However, the restriction was later lifted after Bhushan Kumar appealed to the union, allowing Diljit to continue shooting for Border 2.

Back in 2019, singer Mika Singh faced a ban after performing at a wedding in Karachi linked to former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s family. FWICE called the act “anti-national” amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the revocation of Article 370. The ban was later revoked after Mika publicly apologised. In another incident, Kartik Aaryan received a warning letter from FWICE regarding a Texas event allegedly organised by a Pakistani-owned restaurant. Kartik’s team later clarified that he had no connection with the event.

FWICE had also imposed a blanket ban on Pakistani artists after the 2016 Uri attack, impacting stars like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, who had worked in Bollywood films including Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Kapoor & Sons and Raees.
