Delhi Police have arrested a suspect linked to the theft of a kalash during a Jain festival held at the Red Fort. The incident had sparked concern among devotees and organizers after the sacred object went missing during the celebrations.
According to officials, the accused was identified with the help of CCTV footage and inputs from those present at the event. The stolen kalash has been recovered and returned to the festival committee.
Police stated that strict security measures are in place at major religious and cultural gatherings, but occasional lapses can occur due to large crowds. The arrest has brought relief to the Jain community, who regard the kalash as a sacred symbol in their rituals.
Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine whether the theft was a planned act or an impulsive attempt. The suspect is currently being questioned.
