Ananya Lohia , London - Actor Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that his three-year-old son is still unaware that his father played the iconic wizard Harry Potter, and he hopes to keep it that way for as long as possible.

In a recent interviews, Radcliffe shared a heartwarming moment when a Harry Potter DVD was lying on his kitchen table. Curious to see if his son would recognize him on the cover, the actor asked who the person was. To his delight, the child did not recognize him. "For as long as I can just be his dad and he won't know me as anything else, I will maintain that for as long as I can," Radcliffe said. The actor explained that he treasures this stage of fatherhood, where he is simply a parent rather than a global celebrity. Radcliffe, who welcomed his son with longtime partner Erin Darke in April 2023, has often spoken about wanting to give his child a normal upbringing despite his worldwide fame.
Speaking about parenthood, the 36-year-old described fatherhood as both "crazy" and deeply rewarding. He called watching Darke become a mother "the most incredible, beautiful thing" and referred to his son as "the best thing that's ever happened" to him. At the same time, Radcliffe admitted that being a parent can feel "terrifying and intimidating" because of the responsibility involved in raising a child. When asked whether he would support his son if he chose acting as a career, Radcliffe said he would not stand in his way but would prefer he pursue a life outside the spotlight. The actor noted that working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry can often offer a healthier lifestyle than fame.
Radcliffe and Darke first met while filming the 2013 movie Kill Your Darlings and have been together ever since. The couple have largely kept their son out of the public eye and have not publicly revealed his name.
