Desk Correspondent , Lucknow – The Noida region’s CBSE pass rate has dipped sharply this year, falling well bellow the national average after results were declared on Wednesday. The region posted an overall pass percentage of just 87.66%, lagging the national figure of 93.70% by 6.04 percentage. This indicates a clear decline from last year’s 89.41% and places Noida 20th among 22 CBSE regions nationwide. Over 313,000 students from the region registered for the exams, with nearly 310,000 appearing, highlighting the scale of the setback in an area that covers key western Uttar Pradesh districts including Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Aligarh and Bulandshahr.
Despite the regional slide, individual schools and students delivered standout performances that offered bright spots amid the dip. In Ghaziabad, Daksh Vasudeva of Amity School scored a perfect 500 out of 500, while Silverline Prestige School’s topper hit 99.2% and several students notched 100 in subjects like German and Sanskrit. In Noida, Ramagya School recorded a highest aggregate of 99.6%, with over 51% of its students crossing 90 marks, and Shiv Nadar School achieved a flawless 100% pass rate. Delhi Public School student Tanvi Caroli secured 99.4 %, and Amity International’s Trishar Das reached 99.6%, proving that excellence persisted at the top even as the broader numbers slipped.
Nationally, the overall CBSE pass percentage edged up by a marginal 0.04 points, highlighting the Noida region’s relative underperformance. Principals and parents attributed local successes to consistent effort and resilience rather than any systemic factors. Dr Gita Joshi of Silverline Prestige School praised her students’ subject-wise brilliance, while Anju Soni of Shiv Nadar School credited “focus, resilience and hard work.” Many high-achievers are now eyeing the May improvement exams to push scores even higher, as the region grapples with its lower ranking without any official explanation for the decline.
