An 18-year-old MBBS student in Delhi has accused a 20-year-old man and his two friends of drugging, sexually assaulting, and blackmailing her over the course of nearly a month.
According to the complaint, the accused invited her to a hotel room in Adarsh Nagar, northwest Delhi, on September 9 under the pretense of a party. They allegedly spiked her drink. Once she was incapacitated, the main accused raped her while recording the act, and his two friends also assaulted her.
Subsequently, he used the recorded video and photos to blackmail her, threatening to upload them on social media if she refused his demands. The student says she faced repeated assaults throughout September under duress.
The victim, originally from Jind, Haryana, and staying in a hostel in Delhi, confided in her family. With their support, she filed a police complaint on October 2, leading to registration of a case under Section 64(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
