Ashwini Kumar, an astrologer, has been arrested for allegedly making a terror threat related to Mumbai, police officials confirmed on Saturday. The arrest followed an investigation into threatening messages that created panic and prompted heightened security measures across the city.
According to authorities, Kumar had issued alarming predictions and statements that were treated as a security threat. Following a detailed probe, investigators traced the source of the messages to him. Officials said his background and possible motives are being closely examined.
Kumar, who identifies himself as an astrologer, had been active on social media platforms, where he often shared predictions and claims. Police are now analyzing his digital footprint to determine whether the threat was intentional or part of a larger plan.
Security agencies have stressed that strict action will be taken against anyone creating fear or attempting to disrupt public safety. Mumbai police have assured residents that the situation is under control and additional precautions are being taken.
