The Southeast District Police in Delhi have apprehended 28 Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in the city. These individuals had entered India through the Khulna border in West Bengal and were residing in Delhi without valid documentation. Following their arrest, the deportation process has been initiated.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast), Hemant Tiwari, stated that the police have intensified efforts to identify and repatriate unauthorized migrants. This includes conducting random verification drives in slums, labor camps, and unauthorized colonies, as well as enhancing surveillance to intercept and apprehend illegal immigrants.
This operation is part of a broader initiative to address unauthorized stays by migrants in the capital. Since the beginning of the year, Delhi Police have detained and deported 235 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants
