Patna, August 23 — A light moment in Bihar politics drew attention on Friday when Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav advised Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan to consider marriage. The remark, made during an interaction, quickly turned into a playful exchange when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi added that the suggestion “applies to me as well.”
Tejashwi, who referred to Chirag as his “elder brother,” said, “He should now get married. If he does, people will be happy.” The comment sparked laughter among the gathering. Chirag, smiling at the suggestion, responded that he would consider it when the right time comes.
Rahul Gandhi, present at the event, joined the banter by saying the advice applied equally to him, drawing applause from the audience.
Though lighthearted, the moment highlighted the personal rapport shared among Opposition leaders amid a politically charged atmosphere in Bihar. Social media clips of the exchange quickly went viral, with many users sharing humorous reactions.
While the leaders did not delve deeper into the subject, political analysts noted that such public camaraderie between Opposition figures is often aimed at softening their public image and connecting with younger voters.
The exchange comes as Opposition parties continue their outreach in Bihar ahead of key political contests. For now, the playful marriage advice has added a lighter note to an otherwise tense political season.
