A female student at South Asian University (SAU) in Delhi was allegedly sexually assaulted on campus on October 13, 2025. The incident occurred near the university auditorium, where four men reportedly tore her clothes and attempted to gang-rape her. The victim was found injured on campus and is currently receiving counseling.
The police received a distress call from someone known to the victim around 3 PM on Monday. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections, and the investigation is ongoing with due sensitivity and priority, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Ankit Chauhan.
The assault has sparked widespread protests among SAU students, who are demanding justice and improved campus security. Students have raised concerns about inadequate lighting and lack of CCTV coverage in certain areas of the campus, particularly those under construction. They allege that the university administration initially attempted to shift blame onto the victim by labeling her as "mentally unstable" and questioning her credibility.
