A new book on renowned classical dancer and Rajya Sabha member Sonal Mansingh was unveiled at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in Delhi. The work highlights her journey in the world of Indian classical dance and her resilience in balancing art with public life.
The book traces Mansingh’s decades-long career, underlining the values of courage, conviction, and composure that shaped her as an artiste. It also reflects on her contributions to cultural discourse and her role in taking Indian dance traditions to a global stage.
At the launch event, speakers praised Mansingh for her unwavering dedication to classical art forms despite challenges. They said the book offers readers an insight into her life both as a performer and as a cultural icon.
Mansingh, while addressing the gathering, said that the book is not only about her personal experiences but also about the larger journey of Indian art, which continues to inspire future generations.
