Businessman Raj Kundra and actor Shilpa Shetty have come under fresh legal trouble after authorities issued a lookout circular against them in connection with an alleged cheating case worth 60 crore. The move comes amid an ongoing probe into financial irregularities and fraud complaints filed by investors.
According to officials, the case involves accusations of cheating and criminal breach of trust against Kundra and others linked to the company under investigation. The lookout notice has been issued to ensure that the couple does not leave the country while the inquiry continues.
Investigators allege that several investors were lured with promises of high returns but were later defrauded of large sums of money. Complaints were filed earlier this year, prompting the police to register a case and expand the scope of investigation.
Raj Kundra, who has previously faced legal scrutiny in multiple cases, has denied any wrongdoing. Shilpa Shetty’s name has surfaced as part of the investigation due to her association with her husband’s business dealings, though her legal representatives have maintained she has no direct role in the matter.
The case has drawn wide media attention given the celebrity status of the couple. Legal experts suggest that the lookout notice signals a serious step in the probe, as authorities are looking to secure cooperation from all those named before proceeding further.
