Desk Correspondent , New Delhi - Update on the murder case of an UPSC aspirant, Rajasthan Police have launched a specialized investigation into a 19-year-old serial offender, Rahul Meena, who is accused of raping a woman in Alwar just hours before allegedly committing a brutal rape and murder in Delhi’s Kailash Hills. Meena was apprehended on Thursday, April 23, 2026, after authorities linked him to the Delhi crime, only to discover a trail of violence originating in Rajasthan. A special police team has been formed in Alwar to probe the specific charges of sexual assault reported in their jurisdiction.
The investigation reveals that Meena allegedly attacked a woman in Alwar on the morning of the crime before fleeing to the national capital. Once in Delhi, he reportedly targeted a 21-year-old woman in the Kailash Hills area, where the subsequent rape and murder took place. Police officials have characterized Meena as a "serial offender," suggesting a pattern of predatory behavior. The coordinated effort between Delhi and Rajasthan authorities aims to consolidate evidence from both crime scenes to build a comprehensive legal case against him.
The case has triggered high alert across both states, with the Rajasthan Police focusing on gathering forensic evidence and victim testimony from the Alwar incident. Meanwhile, Delhi Police are processing the murder charges and investigating any potential accomplices or further victims. The swift formation of the special probe team underscores the severity of the allegations and the urgency of the multi-state legal proceedings against the accused.
