Desk Correspondent , New Delhi - Capital sate of India has been placed on high alert following specific intelligence inputs regarding a potential terror attack targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters and other government buildings in Lutyens' Delhi. The Delhi Police Special Cell intensified security measures on Sunday after receiving warnings of possible suicide attacks, IEDs, or car bombings aimed at high-profile political premises and nearby government offices.
The threat emerged following the recent arrest of nine members of a cross-border network linked to Shahzad Bhatti, a Pakistan-based gangster. According to Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah, the module was involved in recruiting individuals via social media to carry out random firing and terror activities across North India and the Delhi-NCR region.
In response, a massive security "bandobast" has been implemented, with increased patrolling and checkpoints established across the national capital. While security at the BJP headquarters has been ramped up nationwide, local officials confirmed that the heightened vigilance is a proactive measure to safeguard sensitive installations against potential suicide or lone-wolf strikes by remnants of the dismantled terror module.
