Man from India arrested in Washington DC for overstaying visa

A man from India has been arrested in Washington DC for allegedly overstaying his visa, according to US Customs and Border Protection. Officials confirmed that the individual had entered the United States legally but failed to leave after his visa expired.

The arrest was carried out as part of routine enforcement operations in the capital. Authorities said such actions are aimed at addressing visa violations and maintaining lawful immigration processes.

US Customs stated that visa overstays are a growing concern, as they contribute significantly to the population of undocumented immigrants in the country. The arrested man is currently in custody and may face deportation proceedings.

Officials emphasized that the case serves as a reminder of the importance of complying with US immigration laws and ensuring timely departure after the expiration of visas.
