Known for her unparalleled versatility and a career spanning over eight decades, the ' Queen of Indiapop' breathed her last at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after battling multi - organ failure sparked by a chest infection and cardiac arrest.
Bhosle leaves behind an unparalleled legacy spanning over eight decades, during which she recorded around 12,000 songs across 20 languages. Her achievements was recognized by the Guinness World Records. She is known for extraordinary versatility and also she mastered in soulful ghazals to high- energy cabaret and Indiapop. Her immense contribution to music earned her Indian's highest honours, including the Dadasaheb Palka Award and the Padma Vibhushan.
