A video showing aides of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un meticulously wiping surfaces after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin has gone viral on social media, sparking a wave of speculation.
The footage shows Kim’s staff moving quickly once the meeting ended, cleaning the chair, table, and even the glass he used. One aide was seen polishing the backrest of the chair while another carried the drinking glass away on a tray. From the furniture to the table’s edges, everything Kim touched was scrubbed carefully, leading observers online to suggest the act was an attempt to “erase DNA.”
The reason behind this unusual precaution remains unclear. Analysts note that it could be a security measure aimed at preventing foreign intelligence agencies from collecting biological samples. Similar claims have surfaced in the past regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose security services reportedly collect and secure his bodily waste during foreign visits to avoid any analysis of his health.
The meeting itself was held on the sidelines of China’s Victory Parade, where Putin, Kim, and Chinese President Xi Jinping appeared together publicly for the first time. Reports indicated that discussions were cordial, with Putin thanking Kim for his support in regional conflicts.
While the video continues to circulate widely online, it has triggered debate over North Korea’s extreme security protocols and the symbolic display of mistrust between global powers, even during high-profile diplomatic events.
