The controversy began after an Instagram meme page shared a post claiming that Kangana had said she would marry Rahul Gandhi if he joined the BJP. The statement quickly went viral, sparking debate and reactions across social media, with many questioning whether it was satire or a genuine remark. However, Kangana Ranaut refuted the claim outright. Taking to Instagram Stories, she criticised the post and those circulating it, calling it “pathetic fake news.” 

She also raised concerns about the way women are treated in public discourse, stating that such misinformation reflects a lack of dignity and respect, even for women in politics. This is not the first time Kangana has made headlines for her remarks on Rahul Gandhi. In a recent interaction, she had criticised his conduct, using the term “tapori” to describe his behavior, which triggered backlash from several political leaders including Supriya Shrinate and Priyanka Chaturvedi. Despite the criticism, Kangana stood by her comments, stating that while she respects individuals, she does not believe in “unnecessarily glorifying” anyone.
