India Criticizes Pakistan's Response to Jaishankar's UNGA Speech as Implicit Admission of Cross-Border Terrorism

India has strongly criticized Pakistan's reaction to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's remarks at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), describing Islamabad's response as an implicit admission of its longstanding practice of cross-border terrorism.

During his address at the 80th session of the UNGA, Jaishankar highlighted India's ongoing challenges with terrorism, emphasizing that numerous major international terrorist attacks have been traced back to a neighboring country. He pointed out that the UN's designated lists of terrorists are replete with nationals from that country. Jaishankar also condemned the glorification of terrorists and the financing of terrorism, calling for relentless pressure on the entire terrorism ecosystem.

Pakistan's response to these remarks was perceived by India as an attempt to malign Jaishankar's speech. Indian officials argue that Pakistan's reaction inadvertently confirmed the allegations of cross-border terrorism, as it did not directly address the specific issues raised but instead sought to deflect attention.

This exchange underscores the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly concerning issues of terrorism and regional security. India continues to advocate for a global approach to combating terrorism, urging nations to take concrete actions against those who sponsor and support terrorist activities.
