Patna, Bihar
A crucial Saturday meeting at Opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s residence has unveiled the INDIA bloc’s strategic blueprint for Bihar's upcoming assembly elections, forging a united front. The Pasupati Kumar Paras-led Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) officially joined the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, marking a significant expansion.
Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Ram joyfully reported the discussions took place in a "cordial atmosphere," leading to a "broad consensus" among partners on seat allotments. He acknowledged that major parties would likely compromise on their 2020 seat numbers to accommodate new members, a testament to the alliance's spirit. The proposed allocation sees the RJD aiming for 122-124 seats, Congress 58-62, Left parties 31-33, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) 20-22, RLJP 5-7, and JMM 2-3.
Mukesh Sahni, VIP founder, expressed confidence, stating, "Our discussions are going very smoothly. There is no dispute regarding the seats". While Rahul Gandhi’s impactful 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' revitalised Congress workers, Ram assured it wouldn't compel partners to surrender their share. The RJD is also planning its own yatra from September 15, adding another layer of campaign momentum.
