"He is My Boss" PM Modi Hails Millennial Nitin Nabin as Youngest-Ever BJP President

Desk Correspondent , Delhi - In a moment of historic transition for India’s ruling party, Nitin Nabin formally assumed charge as the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. At just 45 years old, the five-term MLA from Bihar becomes the youngest leader to helm the party in its history. During a high-profile ceremony at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered a striking endorsement of the new leadership, declaring, "When it comes to the party, Nitin Nabin is the boss and I am a party worker." The Prime Minister’s gesture underscored a deliberate pivot toward a "millennial" leadership capable of navigating the complexities of 21st-century politics.

PM Modi praised Nabin as a leader who represents a bridge between eras, noting that he belongs to a generation that has witnessed the evolution from radio to Artificial Intelligence. The Prime Minister emphasized that Nabin’s extensive organizational experience—ranging from his roots in the youth wing (BJYM) to successful stints as an election in-charge in Chhattisgarh and Sikkim—would be a "valuable asset" for the party. "His youthful energy combined with deep administrative experience will guide us as we work toward the goal of a Developed India," the PM added, while also tasking the new president with the critical role of coordinating with all NDA allies.

In his maiden address as President, Nitin Nabin struck a humble note, stating that for him, "Politics is not power, it is a spiritual practice of sacrifice and austerity." He vowed to maintain the party’s democratic traditions, noting that while presidents change, the core ideals of national service remain immutable. Nabin, the son of veteran leader Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, has remained undefeated in the Bihar Assembly since 2006. As he takes the mantle from outgoing president JP Nadda, Nabin is expected to oversee a major organizational "refresh" ahead of key state elections, ensuring the BJP remains a dominant force in the digital age.
