Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has erupted once again, sending fountains of lava soaring nearly 100 metres into the air and lighting up the night sky. The eruption was reported from within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, one of the world’s most closely monitored volcanic regions.

Officials confirmed that the lava flow is currently contained within the summit caldera, posing no immediate risk to nearby communities. However, residents and visitors have been cautioned about possible ashfall, gas emissions, and shifting wind patterns that may affect air quality. Authorities have advised people with respiratory conditions to take extra precautions.

Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes on Earth, has erupted multiple times in recent decades. Its 2018 eruption caused widespread destruction, swallowing hundreds of homes and reshaping parts of Hawaii’s Big Island. Scientists say the current activity, though spectacular, is significantly less destructive at this stage.

Volcanologists continue to monitor seismic activity, ground deformation, and gas emissions to track the progression of the eruption. Live images shared by the park service show streams of molten rock cascading across the crater floor, drawing tourists and locals to designated safe viewing areas.
