A gold kalash valued at around ₹1 crore was stolen during a Jain religious ceremony held near Delhi’s Red Fort, causing shock and concern among devotees. The incident took place during a major community gathering where hundreds had assembled to participate in the rituals.
According to initial reports, the kalash was part of the ceremonial arrangements and was kept near the main altar. The theft is suspected to have occurred when the crowd was at its peak, making it difficult for organizers to monitor the area closely.
Organizers immediately informed the police, and a case has been registered. CCTV footage from the venue and nearby locations is being examined to trace the suspects. Authorities believe the theft may have been carried out by a group who had been keeping a watch on the preparations for some time.
Community members expressed deep disappointment over the incident, calling it not just a financial loss but also a spiritual one. Police have assured that all efforts are being made to recover the stolen kalash and nab those responsible.
