Desk Correspondent , Bangkok - One week after the terrible fire that killed 25 people at a Goa nightclub, the two main men accused of the crime are set to return to India. Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, who own the Birch by Romeo Lane club, had run away to Thailand just hours after the fire broke out. Officials said on Saturday that the process to deport the fugitive brothers has now been completed. They are expected to be brought back to India as soon as Sunday to face charges of culpable homicide.

The two Delhi-based businessmen showed that they valued their freedom more than the lives lost. They had booked a flight to Phuket, Thailand, at 1:17 am last Sunday morning, even as the fire was still burning at their club. They took off at 5:30 am, long before police could issue a notice against them. The Goa Police quickly acted by getting their passports cancelled and an international notice was issued. They were finally caught by Thai authorities on Thursday, ending their week-long run.

The return of the Luthra brothers is a huge step for the families who lost their loved ones, including four members of a family from Delhi. The police have been building a strong case against the owners for poor safety rules at the club. A special team from Goa Police and the CBI has gone to Thailand to bring the brothers back. This move is a clear message that no one can escape justice, especially after such a massive tragedy.
