Special Correspondent , New Delhi – A devastating fire broke out last week at a Goa nightclub during an ongoing late-night party. Twenty-five people lost their lives. A lookout notice has been issued against the owners of the ill-fated nightclub. The Delhi High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the two owners of the nightclub.

According to sources, anticipatory bail had been sought for the nightclub owners, Saurav and Gaurav Luthra. So far, the police have arrested the ill-fated nightclub’s Chief General Manager Rajiv Modak, General Manager Vivek Singh, Bar Manager Rajiv Singhania, Gate Manager Riyanshu Thakur, and staff member Bharat Kohli. One of the key proprietors of the nightclub, Ajay Gupta, has also been detained by the police.
Notably, the tragic incident occurred around 1 AM on Saturday night at the popular Birch Nightclub located on Romeo Lane near Baga Beach in Arpora, North Goa. A massive fire broke out. Upon receiving the alert, police and fire services rushed to the spot. The government has already constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the incident. The probe is being supervised by the state’s Chief Secretary and the DGP.
