Father Rejects wig theory in Pune businessman murder case

Ananya Lohia , Pune - Fresh details have emerged in the murder case of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, with his father dismissing claims that accused fiancee Siya Goyal was unhappy over his son's use of a hair patch. He said Siya and her family were aware of it before the engagement and questioned why it would become a motive for murder.

Speaking to reporters, Ketan's father Vishal Agarwal acknowledged that his son wore a small wig patch but insisted it was never hidden from the bride's family. He also rejected allegations that Ketan had insisted on the trek to Lohagad Fort, claiming it was Siya who wanted to go. Police allege that Ketan, 25, was pushed into a 400-foot gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18 by Siya and her boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary. Investigators believe the murder was pre-planned and that the duo attempted to portray the incident as an accidental fall.

While Ketan's hair patch has emerged as a new angle in the investigation, police maintain that it alone cannot explain the motive behind the crime. During questioning, the accused reportedly claimed that Chetan encouraged Siya to eliminate Ketan during the trek. Meanwhile, Siya's parents have defended their daughter, saying she had repeatedly expressed her willingness to marry Ketan and never indicated that she was unhappy with the relationship. They also disputed the police version of events, alleging that Ketan had proposed the trek and that Siya was initially reluctant to join.

As investigators continue to probe the motive behind the killing, conflicting claims from both families have added new twists to the high-profile case. Meanwhile, the victim's family has secured assurances of a fast-track trial, with noted lawyer Ujjwal Nikam set to serve as special public prosecutor. Nikam has handled several high-profile terror and murder cases, including the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
