Desk Correspondent , Delhi - The ongoing confrontation between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and central investigative agencies escalated dramatically on Friday as senior party leaders, including Mahua Moitra, took their protest directly to Union Home Minister Amit Shah's doorstep. A delegation of TMC MPs arrived at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi, brandishing placards and chanting slogans against the "misuse" of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The protest follows recent raids on TMC’s poll strategist, which West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has characterized as a blatant attempt to steal election documents and tactical secrets.

Security was tightened around North Block as Moitra and her colleagues demanded an audience with the Home Minister to voice their grievances. The MPs accused the central government of "political dacoity," claiming that the ED is being used as a tool to intimidate the opposition and disrupt the democratic process ahead of crucial elections. Mahua Moitra, known for her sharp rhetoric, told reporters that the party would not be silenced by "agency high-handedness" and challenged the government to fight politically rather than through raids.

The "ED vs TMC" saga has turned into a major national flashpoint, with the BJP dismissing the protests as an "attempt to shield corruption." While the Home Minister did not immediately meet the delegation, the optics of the protest outside the MHA have intensified the political temperature. The TMC has signaled that this is just the beginning of a nationwide agitation, while the central government remains firm that the agencies are operating independently based on evidence of financial irregularities.
