New Delhi
The Delhi Police have significantly escalated their investigation into the recent attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, formally slapping criminal conspiracy charges against both individuals accused in the incident. This pivotal development follows the uncovering of compelling evidence by investigators, leading them to conclude that the assault was not merely an isolated act but an integral part of a meticulously planned conspiracy.
The newly introduced charge, specifically criminal conspiracy under Section 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), has now been added to the case. The two accused, identified as Rajeshbhai Khimji and Tahseen Syed, are currently in police custody, having already faced initial charges under assault and other related sections following their arrest.
A senior Delhi Police officer reiterated the department's unwavering commitment to the case, stating unequivocally that it is "being pursued with utmost seriousness". This suggests authorities are now actively working to unravel the full scope of the alleged conspiracy surrounding the attack on Chief Minister Gupta, seeking to identify all individuals involved and their motives.
