Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - In one of the largest enforcement operations in recent months, the Delhi government has taken strict action against unauthorized construction across the national capital. Authorities demolished 94 illegal buildings and sealed another 114 properties during a massive crackdown aimed at ensuring compliance with urban planning and building regulations.
The enforcement drive was carried out by civic authorities in coordination with law enforcement agencies across multiple zones of Delhi. Officials said the action targeted structures that were constructed without necessary approvals or in violation of sanctioned building plans. The operation forms part of the government's broader effort to address illegal construction, protect public safety, and uphold urban development norms in rapidly growing residential and commercial areas.
According to officials, several notices had been issued to property owners before the demolition and sealing actions were undertaken. Authorities emphasized that unauthorized constructions pose serious risks, including structural instability, overcrowding, strain on civic infrastructure, and violations of fire and safety standards. The administration has warned that similar actions will continue against individuals and developers found violating building regulations, reaffirming its commitment to planned urban development and lawful construction practices.
