Commercial LPG cylinder prices slashed by Rs 183.50 from July 1

Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been cut by Rs 183.50 effective July 1, bringing relief to restaurants, hotels, dhabas and other business users. In Delhi, the 19-kg commercial cylinder now costs Rs 2,930, down from Rs 3,113.50 in June.

The reduction applies to 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders, with city-wise cuts also reported in Kolkata, Chandigarh and Patna. In Kolkata, the price fell to Rs 3,081.50 from Rs 3,255.50, while in Chandigarh it is now Rs 2,954.50 and in Patna Rs 3,227. The price of the 5-kg free trade LPG cylinder was also lowered by Rs 13, to Rs 808.50 in Delhi.

Domestic 14.2-kg LPG cylinder prices were left unchanged for July. That means household users will not see a revision this month, even as commercial buyers get some cost relief. Reports say the cut follows easing pressure in global energy markets after tensions in West Asia cooled.

The latest revision should ease operating costs for businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG. For consumers, though, the main takeaway is that only commercial and select small-cylinder rates have been reduced, while domestic cooking gas remains unchanged.
