Desk Correspondent , Chattisgarh - In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage across Chhattisgarh, a driver associated with the state's emergency response service, Dial 112, along with four others, has been accused of gangraping a woman in the Korba district. The case has raised serious questions about the vetting and conduct of personnel involved in public safety services. According to the police, the incident took place late at night when the victim was reportedly intercepted by the accused while she was traveling.

The primary accused, who was employed as a driver for the Dial 112 emergency vehicle, allegedly used his position to intimidate the victim before he and his four accomplices took her to a secluded location where the assault occurred. Following the traumatic ordeal, the victim approached the local police station to file a formal complaint. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including gangrape and criminal intimidation.

The Chhattisgarh government and senior police officials have taken a serious view of the matter, given the involvement of a person linked to the police emergency network. "It is a matter of grave concern when those meant to protect the public are accused of such heinous crimes," a senior official stated, adding that the driver’s services have been immediately terminated. While some of the accused have been detained for questioning, a massive manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who are reportedly on the run. The incident has led to protests by local women's rights groups demanding the fastest possible trial and capital punishment for the perpetrators.
