A tragic accident in Afghanistan has claimed the lives of at least 79 people after a bus carrying Afghans expelled from Iran crashed while on its way to Herat province.
According to officials, the overcrowded bus lost control and overturned on a highway, leaving dozens dead and many others injured. Emergency teams rushed to the scene to assist survivors and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
Authorities revealed that the passengers had recently been deported from Iran and were returning home when the crash occurred. Poor road conditions and overloading are suspected to have contributed to the severity of the accident.
Local residents joined rescue workers in pulling victims from the wreckage. Hospitals in the region have been placed on high alert to treat the injured, while the government has promised support for the affected families.
The incident has sparked renewed concern over road safety in Afghanistan, where overcrowded vehicles and poorly maintained highways often lead to deadly accidents.
