Desk Correspondent , Bhopal - A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Madhya Pradesh, Pritam Lodh has sparked controversy after allegedly threatening a senior police official with painting their house in "cow dung." Lodhi's remake goes viral on social media on Tuesday, of him asking the Shivpuri superintendent of police (SP) and sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) for clarification on the matter. In this particular incident the IPS Association criticised the politician.
The confrontation occurred after the MLA’s son Dinesh Lodhi reportedly struck five people with his Thar. Following the accident, the police impounded the vehicle and initiated legal proceedings, which reportedly infuriated the legislator. In a viral video of the incident, Lodhi says “My hand used to be 2.5 kg, but now it has become 250 kg. If they don’t clarify within 15 days who is directing them from Delhi. Is it PM Modi, Amit Shah or others? I will take 10,000 people to the SDOP’s house and fill it with cow dung,”
IPS Association president Chanchal Shekhar criticized Lodhi's words and behavior by saying “Lodhi’s behaviour is extremely condemnable and against the dignity of public service, and such conduct undermines the morale of officers and violates democratic values.” Opposition state President on the other hand remarked on his "X" handle this to be the true nature of BJP. “The very public that has revered the BJP for the past 20 years is now being trampled upon by the son of a BJP MLA, while the MLA himself challenges police officers. The BJP’s true tactics, character, and face stand exposed before the public,” wrote Jitu Patwari.
