Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Hamas, urging the group not to delay in agreeing to the U.S.-brokered peace plan for Gaza, cautioning that “all bets will be off” otherwise.
The plan, which includes a roadmap for a ceasefire and hostage exchange, is being negotiated in Cairo, with Trump dispatching envoys including his son-in-law Jared Kushner and top aide Steve Witkoff to partake in the talks. Israel, meanwhile, has continued airstrikes over Gaza, even after Hamas signaled willingness to engage under Trump’s proposal.
Despite the ceasefire discussions and pressure from Trump for Israel to halt bombing, strikes reportedly killed at least 70 people in Gaza, including children. Israel claims its targets are militant infrastructures, and asserts it regrets any harm to civilians, promising to minimize collateral damage.
