Desk Correspondent , Mumbai - Comedian Sunil Pal has finally reacted to the viral roasting segment featuring Samay Raina on The Great Indian Kapil Show, admitting that he was caught completely off guard by what unfolded on stage. Appearing on the comedy special episode aired on World Laughter Day, Sunil reunited with Samay amid their ongoing public feud.

However, instead of a regular stand-up set, the segment quickly turned into an intense roast session, with Samay repeatedly taking digs at the veteran comedian. While some viewers enjoyed the banter, many on social media felt Sunil was being “humiliated” on national television. Speaking to Zee Switch, Sunil revealed that he had arrived on the show expecting a stand-up performance and was never mentally prepared for a roast format. I was invited to perform stand-up, so I went there prepared for stand-up but coincidentally stand-up didn't happen there- all this roasting happened instead. Pal revealed that he wasn't prepared mentally for this either.

The awkward reunion comes months after the controversy surrounding Samay and Ranveer Allahbadia over remarks made on India's Got Latent. Following the backlash and FIRs, Sunil had publicly slammed Samay and even called him a “terrorist”, sparking a bitter fallout between the comedians. Samay later responded by mocking Sunil during his comedy special.

Despite the tension-filled episode grabbing headlines, The Great Indian Kapil Show continues to remain one of the most talked-about comedy shows in the country, featuring Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda. The show has already completed four seasons, and the fifth seasons is scheduled to begin later this year.
