Starring Tom Holland, the film collected $355 million in North America and $572 million from international markets, making it the second-biggest global opening in cinema history behind Avengers: Endgame. China led overseas earnings with $121 million, while India recorded its biggest-ever Hollywood opening with $31.8 million.
Set four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film follows Peter Parker as he faces a new global threat after being forgotten by everyone he once loved. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie also stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo and Sadie Sink.
