Desk Correspondent , Karnataka - Popular Kannada actor-producer Dileep Raj passed away on Wednesday morning after reportedly suffering a heart attack. He was 47, and his sudden demise has shocked the Kannada film and television industry.
Dileep Raj reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to Apollo Hospital, where he could not be revived. His family confirmed the news to NDTV. He began his career with television, gaining popularity through shows like Janani and later appearing in Kumkuma Bhagya, Mangalya, and Hitler Kalyana. He transitioned to films with Boy Friend (2005) and gained wider recognition after working with Puneeth Rajkumar in Milana (2007). Over the years, he featured in over 24 films, including U-Turn, Barfi, and Mahanadhi. His last film was Love Mocktail 3 (2026), directed by Darling Krishna and co-starring Milana Nagaraj. Apart from acting, he also turned producer, backing television projects under his banner DR Creations, and was earlier associated with theatre groups like Nataranga and Drishti.
Dileep Raj is survived by his wife, Srividya, and their two daughters. His untimely demise marks a significant loss for the Kannada entertainment industry, with tributes pouring in for the versatile actor. Dileep raj will always be remembered for his remarkable journey in entertainment world.
