Comedian Pete Davidson has revealed the intense public focus on his dating life and the "big dick energy" (BDE) narrative left him feeling deeply embarrassed and humiliated. The phrase exploded into pop culture, particularly during his high-profile romance with Kim Kardashian, after ex-fiancée Ariana Grande hinted at his perceived ten-inch endowment in 2018, sparking an enduring internet frenzy.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club podcast, Davidson explained this attention overshadowed his professional work on Saturday Night Live. "Nobody talked about any of the work I was doing," he stated, "they were like, ‘Oh that’s the fuck stick.’ That hurt". He admitted that while being perceived as "banging a lot of chicks" sounds appealing "on paper," it was personally mortifying. 

Davidson highlighted a perceived double standard, arguing that the intense sexualisation of him would provoke a "march" if he were a woman, citing examples like Sydney Sweeney. He lamented that the focus was "professional" and "pointed out in the street," rather than on his comedic efforts, stating, "It had nothing to do with comedy".
