A traveller who has spent considerable time in both Mumbai and London has shared that he feels more secure in the Indian city compared to the UK capital.
According to him, Mumbai’s bustling streets, crowded local trains and late-night food joints provide a sense of safety, as the city remains alive through most hours of the day. He pointed out that despite the chaos of traffic and congestion, he rarely feels threatened while moving around at night in Mumbai.
In contrast, he described London as a city where deserted streets after dark can feel unsafe, especially in certain neighbourhoods. Reports of street crimes, muggings and knife attacks have also shaped his perception.
The traveller noted that community presence in Mumbai plays a big role in building confidence, as people are usually around to help in case of trouble. He added that while both cities have their strengths and weaknesses, personal experience has made him lean towards Mumbai when it comes to safety.
